The job of a travel agent has become increasingly important. As the shutdown of travel in 2020 showed us, things can change quickly in the travel industry. Now more than ever, you can access the fantastic benefits of using a travel agent for all of your travel needs.
Whether you are planning a once-in-a-lifetime trip or a weekend getaway, a travel agent can be your best resource. They are ready and willing to help you plan the perfect adventure.
A World Of Knowledge And Experience
Travel Agents are well versed in all types of travel. While most agents will specialize in a specific area of travel, a well-trained agent will be knowledgeable in all areas of travel. For instance, if a travel agent specializes in Hawaii travel, that doesn’t mean that they are not well suited to plan cruises. This just means that their specialty is Hawaii.
A good travel agent stays up to date on training. Travel agents’ training opportunities include workshops, in-person training, and video conferences. They follow all the best blogs and join travel agent-only groups to stay updated on the latest news and travel resources.
Resources
Travel agents have an array of resources available to them. Many of the resources are not open to the public. If you want to book a trip to New England in the fall, then your travel agent has resources to search through to find the best options. They also have a network of connoisseurs in different areas of travel that can give advice, recommendations, and tips.
Free To Use
Using a travel agent should never cost you a thing. The vendors pay travel agents a commission they book through. The commission does not make your cost go up, nor does it affect the price you pay. Travel agents can help make reservations, book tours, and secure tickets as part of their complimentary service.
Peace Of Mind
Your travel agent wants you to have a fantastic experience and does a lot of research behind the scene, such as searching for hotels and resorts with the best ratings, accommodations, activities, and experience. They are searching the area for activities, shows, and sightseeing making sure you have information about the place you are visiting. They look for discounts, specials, and deals to help you get the most out of your money. Agents spend hours on hold to ask questions and book trips. They are there to do all the behind-the-scenes work, so you don’t have to.
When you work with a travel agent, they not only book your hotel accommodations, flights, transportation, and activities but also help create an itinerary that makes the most of your time and ensures that you see all the sights you intend to during your trip.

It is so nice to have someone plan you trip when you don’t know the area you are going to.
I didn’t even know a travel agent was free. This made me rethink using a travel agent. Thanks for the info.
We use an agent for certain trips… like Disney… that are a little more difficult to organize. Otherwise, we typically go it alone.
Lots of great reasons to use a travel agent. This is especially good info to know for those who may not travel frequently.
I’ve never used a travel agent but have heard nothing but good things. I didn’t realize that going through a travel agent didn’t cost any money!
All great reasons to seek out a qualified agent! I know when I’ve gone through an agent in the past it was all positive and enjoyed our travels stress free!
Wow, I didn’t know that travel agents have some resources available only to them and that their service is free of charge for me. I have never used a travel agent service and all my trips I have organised always by myself, cause I believe more in myself than other people 😀 But I am sure that if I will travel one day outside Europe, I will need some help to organize everything. Thanks for the information! Very useful!
Unfortunately finding good travel agent in under developed countries is no less than struggle and there if you find a honest one its literally a big win and blessing.
