A bucket list is a list of things you have never done but want to do before dying. I love the idea of a bucket list. It gives you a written list of achievable goals to accomplish. I believe there are ten things everyone should have on their bucket list. I have also included examples of each from my very own bucket list.
An Epic Adventure
Everyone needs an adventure! I feel like my bucket list consists mainly of epic adventures. What makes them “epic adventures”? Well, that’s a personal preference. It is things that I would like to do, things that would excite and bring me joy. It is your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
- Hot air balloon ride
- Be a contestant on “The Price Is Right”
- Go to a Broadway Play
- See the Grand Canyon
- See the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade live
Epic Adventure
Something Educational
I believe that you should never stop learning. Continuing your education in life is so important. You can always learn something that will enrich your life. Learning can be fun and rewarding.
- Earn a College Degree (I have acomplished this)
- Learn to speak French
- Learn to shoot a bow and arrow
- Learn to cook
Never Stop Learning
Something To Benefit The Next Generation
Whether or not you have children, you can always leave the world a better place when you are no longer here. It could mean donating to a charity, becoming an avid recycler, producing less waste. For it to be on your bucket list, it needs to be achievable and something that would make a difference, even if it’s limited to your backyard.
- Purchase real estate to leave for my children
- Invest in stock
- Grow a garden
- Recyle
- Start a Compost
Make The World A Better Place
Major Achievement
Accomplish something that makes you stand out. Maybe a lifetime goal or something that takes a lifetime to achieve. A significant achievement would go beyond learning a new skill; it involves taking that skill to the next level.
- Write a book
- Restore a old house
- Open a Bed and Breakfast
- Start your own business
Travel Somewhere
I have no problem naming places that I want to visit. I have my own separate travel bucket list, but I want to share my other travel goals for this list.
- Travel to as many countries as possible
- Spend a month abroad
- Get a one-way plane ticket and travel for as long as we can from place to place before going home.
- Travel by plane
- Go on a cruise
Chance Of A Lifetime
Personal Development
If you are honest with yourself, you will always find room for improvement. Sometimes, you have to face your fear or overcome your past to improve upon yourself. Putting goals on your bucket list to overcome will satisfy you, boost your confidence, and make you a better person.
- Learn anger managment
- Forgive someone who has wronged you
- Ask for forgiveness from someone you have wronged
- Seek help for anxiety
Health And Fitness
Many people put their health and fitness goals on their New Years Resolution list, but I believe you should have health and fitness goals to put on your bucket list. Beyond the typical weight loss and exercise goals, place something on the list that would excite you to achieve.
- Lose weight to attend a high school reunion
- Participate in a runDisney marathon
- Get to my ideal weight and stay there
- Be able to stay physically active in my retirement years
Health And Fitness
Career
Having goals you want to achieve and conquer in your career will be rewarding in life. You spend so much of your life working, so it makes sense to set high achievable goals to reach within your career. If you work for yourself, then those goals are even more critical. Maybe your goal is to work for yourself or start a small side business. Whatever your idea is for improving your career, you should set it as a goal and list it on your bucket list.
- Retire at 50
- Get a promotion
- Become an expert in your trade
- Start a blog (I currently have 2 blogs)
Spiritual And Emotional
One of the most important aspects of self-care is taking care of your spiritual and emotional needs. Everyone defines this differently, but it is the core of who you are. Take time to care for yourself.
- Learn Yoga
- Read the Bible completely through
- Visit the Holy Land
- Learn to take time for myself
Spiritual and Emotional Wellbeing
Something Outside Of Your Comfort Zone
I’m not talking about anything dangerous. Something bold and outgoing like singing karaoke will put you outside your comfort zone if you are shy. Include something that challenges you to go beyond yourself.
- Learn to do vidography and be comfortable speaking on videos
- Speak in public
- Go Zip-lining
- Travel Alone
What else should be standard on any bucket list? My bucket is overflowing with things I want to do and experience. Please share some of your favorite bucket list ideas with me. Have you marked any of your adventures off your bucket list?
